The Mobile Companion App can now be used to scan product SKU bar code labels during the Inventory Count process. To utilize the Companion App to complete an Inventory Count, navigate to the Inventory Location the count will occur under and select Inventory Counts.
On the Inventory Counts page, select the New Inventory Count button to begin a new count
On the Add Inventory Count page, select the Use Companion App button.
A new page will open displaying a QR code. Using the MotionMD Companion App on your iOS device, scan the QR code. If the MotionMD Companion App is not installed on your iOS device, click Download Companion App to install it.
On your iOS device, click the Scan Item button. This button will redirect you to the scanning screen.
Begin scanning barcodes by aligning the white line in the scanning window over the barcode, then tap anywhere on the screen. When the barcode is captured, the screen will flash green and, if notifications are enabled, the device will vibrate. The SKU of the scanned barcode will appear at the bottom of the screen and remain there until another item is scanned.
At the bottom of the screen:
Undo Previous — Removes the last scanned SKU.
Done — Opens a page to display the list of scanned barcodes and their quantities.
Quantities for each line item can be adjusted by tapping the SKU and using the minus (–) and plus (+) buttons. To delete a SKU from the list, swipe left on the SKU to reveal the Delete button, then click Delete to remove the item from the list.
When the Cancel button at the top of the page is clicked, a pop-up window will appear with the message: "Are you sure you want to cancel this scan?" If you select Yes, all scanned data will be deleted, and you will be returned to the Scan QR Code page. If you select No, the pop-up window will close, and you may continue scanning.
When the Upload button is clicked, a pop-up window will appear with the message: "Are you sure you want to upload the list?" Clicking Cancel will close the pop-up without uploading. Clicking Upload will send the list of scanned items and quantities to MotionMD. A success message will appear once the list has been successfully sent.
Navigating to the Inventory Counts page where the Count was started will display all the SKUs and quantities scanned utilizing the MotionMD Companion App.
If the count has not been completed, it can be resumed by clicking View, then Edit on the pending count. The Use Companion App button will remain enabled until the count has been applied or has expired.
